CHBA-NL wanted to build its members’ technological proficiency and help them adapt to changing market demands, so they invited in Training Works to research, create, and implement a solid training strategy.

Participation was beyond expectations. Additionally, the training resulted in 32 professional certifications being awarded. Post-training evaluations showed that employees gained skills resulting in higher productivity and more stable careers.

Signal Gold (formerly Anaconda Mining) engaged us to implement a learning management system (LMS) including learning content to meet the gaps identified from our skills assessment. The recommendations aligned with the organizations’ strategic direction to support change, innovation, and productivity. We provided new courseware, and licensed and modified existing training to suit the needs of Signal Gold University.

Training Works created a strategic partnership with Agnico Eagle, Signal Gold (formerly Anaconda Mining), and the Mining Industry Human Resources Council to develop a new micro-learning delivery model to support demand-driven safety skills development in the mining industry. This project will revolutionize training within the mining industry, allowing employees to receive moment-in-time learning through their mobile devices that is relevant and specific to their positions.

How do you meet the evolving professional needs of the Marine Transportation Industry? For the Council of Marine Professional Associates, the answer was to get Training Works on board. We identified, mapped, and created training pathways to improve employee skills and competencies. Training Works also facilitated the formal recognition of this training program by Transport Canada as a professional credit recognized under the STCW.

The Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association engaged Training Works and MQO Research to develop an Aquaculture Human Resources Plan that identified current and future human resources needs and challenges faced by the aquaculture operators in the province. The project consisted of a Labour Market Analysis, a training capacity review, and an attraction and retention strategy.
